Realworks is the leading CRM provider for the Dutch real estate market, offering an end-to-end solution to over 19,000 realtors and professionals. For more than 20 years, the company has continually developed its software, adding new features, from AI tools to legal document creation, while keeping pace with ever-changing laws and regulations.

The Realworks CRM is a complex software suite that includes a viewing planner, a buy-sell agreement manager, a mailing client, and many other functions that support the buying and selling of property. Over those 20 years, Realworks attempted to modernize the application several times, but every attempt stalled during adoption. Teams worked in isolation, and the constant pressure to ship new features always outweighed redesigning existing ones.

I joined Realworks as a user experience designer to lead the design side of the modernization effort. My main task was to create a foundational design system and get it adopted by every team in the company.

I was responsible for designing a library of components, working closely with product owners and developers to take each one from concept through refinement and review to launch as part of the broader modernization project. Alongside the design work, I introduced AI tools to the team to speed up our workflow.
